About Us

History

The Action Centre’s origins were as a day center at the Constance Lethbridge Rehabilitation Centre. In 1998, the Action Centre was formed as a community day program for adults with physical disabilities. Originally located in Point St Charles, the Action Centre moved to its current location in LaSalle in 2002. In 2018, we celebrated 20 years of service to our members. Over the years, the Centre has grown as an inclusive, supportive space which many of our members call their second home.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Action Centre is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for adults with physical disabilities so that they have access to and may participate in a variety of educational, social, cultural, and recreational programming in a community setting. It is also to raise general awareness about the needs and rights of adults with physical disabilities and the Action Centre’s philosophy of living life without limits.
